There are not a lot of works for this instrumentation - those well-balanced are mostly duets from the early 19th century with historical instruments. Use of an amplified guitar unlocks new compositional possibilities through a dynamic-tonal balance. “Rhapsody for Two” explores all these new spaces to create a virtuoso poly-style work with jazz, pop, Bach and avant-garde leanings. It fits into my series of artPop works like Bottom’s Dream (2008), Acordoba (2010) and Out of Dark (2011).
