The work reflects Goethe's idea in his poem "Ginkgo biloba" in which he sees the division of the ginkgo leaf into two parts as a symbol of unity in opposites. This antagonism is also the basis of my composition in the form of two approaching, penetrating material levels. The solo guitar symbolizes the spontaneous, human in its search for form and structure - this is contrasted with the strings in a strict canonical network based on the pre-baroque antiphon "Oh Savior, tear open the heavens". There is nothing historicizing here, rather this process-developed texture stands for timeless beauty and cosmic order. As in the firmament, the sight of the celestial bodies appears random and chaotic to us - yet they are based on a physical condition. The timpani acts as a dramatic commentator on this approach and final fusion of the Spheres.
