The „Blues in E“ is an ideal start to get a feeling for the 12-bar blues-form. With its modular structure it can be repeated and performed in any combination of parts by 2-4 players.

Example:

1: 2+4
2: 2+4+1
3: 1+3
4: 1+3+2
5: 1+3+2+4

Each parts may be doubled or extended to groups of players.
There is still space left for improvising choruses and bridges connecting repeats based on the „blues-scale“. Also equal straight (binary) and „Swing“ (ternary) phrasing can be worked out.
